Step 1: Find the Introduction to Sport Science course

The USTA offers an Introduction to Sport Science course online to increase your knowledge in a variety of fields specific to coaching tennis. Upon passing this course, you will receive a certificate of completion.

This course tests your knowledge of general principles of coaching, teaching, management and physical training based on:

Step 2: Register and Take the Exam

1. Click this link to register with for the Introduction to Sport Science course. If you are new to the site, you will need to create a new profile. Be sure to write down your username and password, as you will need it to access the testing system each time. 

2. After you register and log in, you will be taken to the USTA Learn dashboard, where you will click "Register for Course/Learning Path." Next, type "Introduction to Sport Science" in the search box and press "Find Course."

3. Once you have located the course, click "Register," then click "Complete Registration" next to the cart icon in the top right hand corner of the page. You will be brought to the Course/Learning Path Confirmation page. Please click “Confirm” and “Go to Dashboard.”

4. Select "Introduction to Sports Science" course under Active Courses and you will be brought to the home page of the course.

5. Please complete all modules before taking the Final Assessment.
