Satoshi Ochi is the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at the USTA and is based at the USTA National Training Center Headquarters in Boca Raton, Fla. Satoshi oversees and manages Strength and Conditioning/Athletic Training staffs and programs entire USTA Player Development Training Centers.
Prior to joining the USTA, Satoshi was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Creighton University, where he was also an instructor for the Exercises Science Department. Satoshi, from Shizuoka, Japan, received his M.A. in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He also received his B.A. in Exercise Science at Creighton University and played tennis for the BlueJays while attending the university. He holds the National Strength and Conditioning Association's (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certifications.
Since 2004, Satoshi has received the NSCA’s Coach Practitioner distinction, recognizing him as an elite strength and conditioning professional in the world. Satoshi also completed a strength and conditioning internship at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., during the fall of 1999. He was also a nominee of the 2001 NSCA College Strength and Conditioning of the Year.
